Not long ago I decided to stumble into Shrimp Keeping, Windmilling all the Way! I started with Cherries, as we all do. Then moved on to 'pretty blue shrimp'. I decided to try my hand at Blue Pearl shrimp. I got some from a Local source and some from another source. Well thanks to Soothing's information, pointing it out to me. I had in fact mixed Blue Pearl and Blue Velvet shrimp. Well, I had no idea what they would do. No one did. so, I let them breed, took the adults out and here are the results some months later.

The slate color is gone from the now adults, While Blue Velvets babies are red when they are born, The Ones I have produced are now blue from when they are born and only get darker as they age. To the color of Blue Velvet. The Males are brighter blue, no slate coloring, almost to the blue of a female. The females are large. I have no seen any red coloring.
I am also breeding Blue Velvets (blue rilis) side by side for comparison. The rilis I have still have spots of red.
