Tank Mates: From a theoretical point of view all "Victorians" are suitable tankmates. In reality you should take into consideration that all Haplochromines from L. Victoria have a "genetic compatibility" far more pronounced than Malawians (!!!) In wild - in their natural habitat - hybridization, for a lot of reasons (each male has "his own" females ready to spawn; the typical light of Lake Victoria's water allows each male to do the right thing, and so on …) doesn't take place while, in the limited space of a tank it is very difficult to avoid crossbreedings. It is recommended to house toghether species (or genuses) whose females differ as much as possible (size, color, melanic pattern …). That's why those fishes are, at the moment, the only Victorians I keep. Other suitalbe tank mates could be in my opinions, Malawians (which I keep them with my Victorians) and/or catfishes of different kinds (which I also keep in the same tank).
