Behaviour and Compatibility
Simply put, not a good community fish. Unfortunately itʼs often sold as such.
Although a great beginners species in many ways, it is best maintained in a speciestank.
It is an aggressive, territorialspecies that becomes downright violent when breeding.
It will take on fish several times its own size and win with ease. In a very big tank you can keep it in a community of robust Central American cichlids.

Not especially aggressive, though territorial when breeding and may eat much smaller fishes.
It can be kept with similarly-sized Central American cichlids but provide enough space to allow each species to form an adequate territory.
Groups of peaceful upper-water dwelling fishes can also be included with the genera Poecilia and Xiphophorus particularly suitable since they have representatives in Mexico.
Unless spawning, Thorichthys species are quite gregarious and do best when maintained in groups of 8 or more individuals.

αν τελικα βαλεις κιχλιδες και ζωοτοκα χωρις φυτα,πιστευω πως τα ζωοτοκα θα ζουνε σε περιβαλλον τρομοκρατιας συνεχως.και ας κολυμπανε πιο ψηλα αποτι οι κιχλιδες.
και δεν το λεω μονο γιατι λυπαμαι τα ζωοτοκα,αλλα γιατι αν αυτα στρεσαρονται και αρρωστησουν,ειναι πολυ πιθανο να εχεις προβληματα και με τις κιχλιδες.
επισης στην περιπτωση των firemouth προσεξε τι λενε οι δυο τελευταιες γραμμες στην παραθεση παραπανω.
ασχετα απτο οτι προσωπικα δεν θα τον εκανα το συνδιασμο ετσι κιαλλιως,
μην βασιστεις μονο στη γνωμη μου,περιμενε να παρεις κιαλλες απαντησεις γιατι δεν τα εχω κρατησει ποτε τα ψαρια.
ισως να το δοκιμαζα σε μεγαλυτερο ενυδρειο...
