Melanotaenia praecox
Maximum Standard Length : 8cm, although usually smaller in aquaria.
Minimum Tank Size : An active species, so despite its small size it requires an aquarium measuring at least 60cm x 30cm x 30cm - 55 litres.
Temperature: 23-28°C
pH Range: 6.8-7.5
Hardness: 5-15°H
Like other rainbowfish it can be quite skittish and does far better when kept in a shoal of
at least 6-8, preferably more
Kryptopterus minor
Maximum Standard Length: 8cm
Minimum Tank Size: 90cm x 30cm x 30cm - 85 litres.
Temperature: 21-26°C
pH Range: 5.5-7.0
Hardness: 1-10°H
It absolutely must be kept in a shoal of
at least six indivduals or it will often refuse to feed and pine away.
Colisa lalia
Maximum Standard Length: 6-9 εκ
Minimum Tank Size : 60cm x 30cm x 30cm - 56 litre tank is just about big enough for a pair provided it is set up correctly
Temperature: 22 - 27°C
pH Range: 6.0 - 7.5.
Hardness: 2 - 18°H
Compatibility: It can certainly be kept alongside numerous other species, but is not exactly the "ideal" community fish. It's both shy and territorial,
so in a small tank should be considered the primary inhabitant.
